Custom Control Concepts Visits the 2014 Asian Business and Aviation Conference & Expo (ABACE14) in Shanghai, China

We just returned from ABACE14 in Shanghai, and thought we would share our experience.

This was our first time attending ABACE, and we had a great time meeting new friends and catching up with old ones – it’s amazing how wonderfully close our industry community is and running into existing business partners, clients, and industry friends at these exhibitions never gets old. Since we were’t exhibiting at ABACE we had the chance to really experience all that the show has to offer. 

Attendance at the show was high, with reportedly 30% growth in attendance over last year’s show, which demonstrates the growth in the industry as a whole related to that area of the globe. Jason Danforth, our VP of Business Development, noted that the show was “busier than expected and ABACE is obviously one of the fastest growing industry conferences.” Look to see even more attendees this time next year as this trend continues.

Our team spent a full 3 days in Shanghai at the show, walking the floor, meeting with business partners, clients, the media, and looking for the latest trends in the Asia-Pacific business jet market - a few of our favorite booths were hosted by AMECO, Flying Colours, Fokker Services, Taeco,  Aeria, Pats and Talco. The level of detail put into the displays at ABACE is amazing and we definitely found some inspiration for our next display update.

Our favorite moment was visiting the Static Aircraft Display at the Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport.  Seeing the luxuriously outfitted business and VIP aircraft up-close and personal was breath-taking. Best of all, a few of the aircraft featured VIP systems from Custom Control Concepts that included our latest In-Flight Entertainment and Cabin Management offerings. The Static Display was very popular as our team was typically “waiting in long lines to get onto some of the aircraft, especially the ACJ, BBJ and Embraer Biz Jets.”

We are already looking forward to attending ABACE15 next year and perhaps we will be exhibiting for the first time. In the meantime we’re excited to catch up with some of our new ABACE friends (and perhaps some of you!) at EBACE14 from May 20-22 where we will be exhibiting our latest IFE and CMS offerings at Booth 818.
